Visual Sokoban

- Level Editor -

The Level Editor software is made for people who want to continue enjoying Visual Sokoban even after having solved all levels, and also for people who would like to contribute to this game. When you create a new level, you can then use it in Visual Sokoban by selecting the pack you just created in the "Level Selection" form. And if you create new levels, please send them to me so I can propose them on the official Visual Sokoban HomePage or include them in a future release of the game. My e-mail adress is powerteam@chez.com.

- Step by step -

On the main window, you can choose the block you want to add to your level with the list of the blocks at right. The blue "selected" label shows what will be added if you click with the left button of the mouse, the red "selected" label shows what will be added if you click with the right button of the mouse. Just click on those blocks with the left or right button to change the selected blocks. Once you chose the appropriate blocks, you can click on the level at left to change the type of the block. When you think your level is good and hard enough, save it and try it with the Visual Sokoban game, and then send it to me :-)

- The .PAK format -

The format used for the levels is the .pak format. You may want to modify your levels after having finished them in the Level Editor software, but you should modify a .pak file manually only to erase a level or to change the order of the levels, or the level may not work anymore. So here is how a .pak basically works: each line is a level and each character is a part of this level (a wall, an object...), so if you want to erase a level, just erase the right line, but please save your file first ! To change the order of the levels, you just need to change the order of the lines.
